Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd October 2024, Titanic Belfast

Be part of the conversation at Titanic Belfast along with over 500 attendees involved in AI application, policy, and regulation across the US and Europe, as we explore the continued evolution of AI and ways to responsibly harness its potential across society.

AI Con has been leading the conversation on artificial intelligence since our first conference took place in 2019. With that conversation stepping up considerably in recent times, the Kainos-hosted tech conference returns to Titanic Belfast on Thursday 9th of November, once again leading the discussion and shaping the debate. As ever, we welcome the technologists and data scientists at the heart of that debate as they continue to develop AI’s applications through its rapid evolution.

But also critical to the conversation are the businesses and sectors for whom AI will become essential, for development and growth – even survival. As the technology’s applications continue to reach into every corner of our lives, its use in law, academia, medicine and commerce is being increasingly expanded, and we look forward to the valuable input we can gain from those practitioners. As advancements in Generative AI continue to broaden the conversation from AI as a technology discipline to AI as a societal movement, fundamentally reshaping how we live and work, AI Con 23 will focus on two tracks: technical and societal.

Technical Track

Within the technical track, leading technologists will examine: foundation models and the next era of AI; open source models versus commercial models; extending and refining models; and the nitty-gritty of AI deployment and management. As many organisations struggle to make the leap to realise AI’s value, we'll focus on the technical insights and accelerators that can enable adoption, equipping data scientists with the latest approaches to getting their models to production and enabling software engineers and architects to adopt, extend and embed models to realise their value in production.

Societal Track

The societal track will focus on the power and perils of the technology and its impact on wider society. With organisations touting Generative AI as the industrial revolution of knowledge work; governments scrambling to reconcile with technological advancements which are emerging faster than regulators responses; and Big Tech locked in an AI Arms Race that some are describing as a race to the bottom, there are big issues to be discussed and a vast array of voices to be heard.
