Las Vegas, January 5, 2024 - Samsung, a key player in the tech industry, showcased its commitment to democratizing technology through AI advancements and sustainable practices during its CES 2024 event.

Samsung's CEO, JH Han, emphasized the company's decade-long investment in AI, stating, "These investments are coming to life not only in our products but in service too. We embrace the great social responsibility that comes with AI technology."

A notable investment highlighted by Samsung is in security technology, particularly Samsung Knox, which safeguards hardware and services through cutting-edge technologies. Shin Baik, a Samsung executive, explained the company's unique position to use AI for safeguarding the entire platform and ecosystem, citing technologies like Knox.

In a bid for a more sustainable future, Samsung introduced the SmartThings Energy program, focusing on environmental responsibility. The company has partnered with Tesla to integrate SmartThings with their devices. Inhee Chung, Samsung's VP of Corporate Sustainability, highlighted the company's commitment to a circular economy, with 14% of all plastics used in Samsung devices being recycled.

Samsung, shipping over 500 million smart devices annually, aims to bring AI and hyperconnectivity to a global audience. JH Han expressed the potential of AI to save time, making our lives more personal and efficient. He envisions AI becoming more accessible, simpler, and creative in the future.

In terms of accessibility, Samsung is investing in features like auto open doors, audio subtitles through AI-enabled text-to-speech, and the Relumino mode catering to individuals with vision impairments.

Samsung's CES 2024 presentation also showcased innovative AI applications. The Ballie, a rolling AI assistant, now functions as a companion to Samsung devices. It can interact, control devices, and respond to verbal commands. Demonstrating its versatility, Samsung illustrated how Ballie can distract pets by playing a projected film or feeding them remotely.

Moreover, Samsung unveiled an 8K projector with wireless transmission and ReadyVision, an AI-connected copilot for cars or homes from Harman. The latter integrates AI into the kitchen, generating recipes based on refrigerator contents.
